Description: Userspace API for interfacing with kernel ALSA (audio) drivers

 Although ALSA has replaced OSS, ALSA drivers can provide backward
 compatible OSS emulation for applications that are not ALSA-ware.
 In embedded contexts, OSS is usually preferred even when an ALSA
 option is available, because the OSS API doesn't require this large
 library.
