Package: hotplug-minimal Provides: hotplug Priority: extra Version: 3.3-2 Source: diet-pc Architecture: all Maintainer: Paul A. Whittaker Section: base Destination: root Depends: udev (>= 0.104-1), usbmodules, module-init-tools (>= 3.2.2-1), busybox (>= 1.11.2-1) Recommends: storage-detect Suggests: wpa-supplicant Description: A very simple hardware event handler for DIET-PC This package is deprecated. Hotplug and udev have been replaced by Busybox's mdev applet starting at initscript 3.5 / busybox 1.17.1. This package remains essential for initscript 3.4 and earlier, but is a waste of space when using 3.5 or later. . The package's main purposes are to coldplug USB devices at system boot-up, and to support older Linux kernels (between 2.6.0 and 2.6.14 inclusive). It is also needed for runtime driver firmware loading. . This package doesn't resemble "real" hotplug (from the hotplug distribution) very much. Unlike Debian hotplug, it coexists peacefully with udev.
