Package: xine Provides: media-player Priority: optional Version: 0.99.5-1 Source: xine-ui Architecture: __ARCH__ Maintainer: Paul A. Whittaker Section: Applications Destination: usrlocal Depends: libxine1, xset, libpng12-0, libxv1, libxinerama1, libjpeg62, libxext6, libx11-6, libz1, libc6 (>= 2.7-1) Recommends: libxvmc1, libdvdcss2 Suggests: libasound2 Description: Xine media player X11 GUI A versatile multiformat audio/video player. . Requires a CPU with multimedia feature extensions (MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, Altivec, etc) of approximately 800 MHz or better (in x86 terms) for brute-force software rendering of DVD-resolution video. HDTV requires approximately 2 GHz or more. Hardware MPEG acceleration may allow use of slower CPUs for simple MPEG-formatted data only (e.g. cable TV (DVB)), but not for DivX etc. Typically Xine also requires a GPU with approx 32 MB of RAM or more, using a Linux driver which provides hardware video acceleration (X11 XVideo) support. The host machine will need 128 MB or more of RAM to run the media player comfortably with no swap space configured. . libXvMC libraries are required for Hardware MPEG acceleration (if supported on your hardware). libdvdcss is required to play encrypted (region locked) DVDs. . This package includes English language support only, but additional languages can be added modularly. The player is skinnable, but only one skin (cloudy) is included.
